Job Description: dConstruct is looking for mechanical engineers to join our vibrant and driven hardware team working on solving challenging problems in robotics and reality capture. As an electrical/electronic engineer at dConstruct, you will be designing, building and integrating robotic systems needed to solve complex real-world problems.

Responsibilities

1.     Lead the design, development and implementation of robotics structures and mechanisms.

2.     Design, assemble and evaluate rapid prototype models in order to assess technical feasibility of various solutions.

3.     Analyse trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.

4.     Document designs, verification protocols, and results.

5.     Develop robust test methods and design test fixtures to ensure that selected materials and prototype designs are accurately evaluated against the specification and requirements.

6.     Work with internal/external partners to support fabrication and manufacture.

7.     Interpret customer specifications to define requirements for design.

8.     Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders to deliver robust hardware.

9.     Define test plans and evaluate reliability.

10. Diagnose and resolve technical issues during deployment and commissioning of systems.

11. Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers.

Requirements and Skills

1.     Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or other relatedfields.

2.     7+ years’ experience in mechanical design and development.

3.     Ability to conceptualize, implement and validate a system level design and solution.

4.     Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and techniques.

5.     Experience and knowledge in robotics or related fields.

6.     CAD software expertise. Inventoris preferred.

7.     Familiar with manufacturing technologies (3D printing, sheet metal, CNC machining, etc.).

Clear communication, strong documentation habits, and the ability to lead technical decisions, work independently, and mentor others.
